What Are Cookies?

Cookies are pieces of information that are collected when you use an internet browser. These bits of information are saved on your computer to make it easier to login or fill in forms. They are also used by some companies to target advertising based on your browsing history.

Why Clear Cookies?

It’s important to clear cookies regularly for a few reasons. First and foremost is safety. The very thing that makes cookies helpful (remembering login and account information so you don’t have to), also create a security risk. Cookies also tend to hold on to information that might not be so helpful. If a website has been updated since the last time you visited and there are cookies holding on to the memory of the old version, you may be unable to view the site’s new features and may have trouble logging into that site until you’ve cleared cookies.
